Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
velociluxa is an independent, non-commercial editorial guide to mobile racing games. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why, and the rights you have. It is written to meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors in Québec, Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information).
01Who we are
velociluxa is a personal project run by an individual editor based in Toronto, Ontario. It is not an incorporated business, and no registration or tax numbers are claimed. For any privacy question, contact the person responsible for this site directly.
- Privacy contact: [email protected]
02What we collect
We keep collection to a minimum.
- Subscribe form: your name and email address, plus whatever you write in the message. We never ask for a phone number.
- Web-push notifications: if you choose to subscribe, your browser generates a push subscription (a device or browser token) so we can send notifications. This only happens after you give express opt-in through your browser's permission prompt.
- Server logs: like most websites, the hosting server automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type (user-agent), and the time of a request. This is used only for security and to keep the site running.
We do not run advertising trackers or analytics profiling on this site. We do offer optional web-push notifications, but only if you turn them on yourself; nothing is sent unless you opt in.
03Why we use it (purposes)
- To read and reply to a message you send us.
- To keep the website secure and diagnose technical problems (server logs only).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build a marketing profile.
04Consent
When you submit the subscribe form you give meaningful, express consent for us to use your name and email to reply and, if you ask for them, to send you updates. Web-push notifications require a separate express opt-in through your browser's permission prompt, in line with CASL. Consent is opt-in and is never bundled with anything else. You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, by disabling notifications in your browser or by emailing us to ask that your details be deleted.
05Service providers and disclosure
The site is served by a third-party web hosting provider, which processes server-log data on our behalf strictly to deliver the website. We use OneSignal as a service provider to run our web-push notifications and to handle any email you submit through the form. When you subscribe, your email address and a small set of tags (for example your name and the site domain) are processed by OneSignal on our behalf. OneSignal operates on servers in the United States, so this involves a cross-border transfer of your data. We do not otherwise share your information with anyone, except where the law requires it. We do not use analytics platforms or advertising networks on this site.
06Cross-border transfer
Our hosting or email provider may store or process data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of that country. In line with Law 25, we take reasonable steps to ensure any such provider offers an adequate level of protection.
07Retention
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then rotated out.
08Your rights
Under PIPEDA and Law 25 you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your message and details, and withdraw consent.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time.
09How to complain
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your personal information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. Residents of Québec may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI) at cai.gouv.qc.ca.
10Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date at the top.
